On 1st September 2023, TANLAP organized a capacity building session with selected members of TANLAP focused to discuss how Legal Aid Providers can effectively utilize regional and international mechanisms to advocate for protection and promotion of women's Rights. Dr. Clement Mashamba (Former Solicitor General) of the URT who was the facilitator informed the participants the opportunities and procedures necessary to access the regional and international mechanisms including the African Court of Human and People's Rights. He emphasized the need for Legal Aid Providers to work collaboratively and innovatively to access the regional and international mechanisms in case all local remedies for promotion and protection of women rights have been utilized. During the session TANLAP also identified male champions and trained them on promotion of gender equality to enhance Women participation in leadership roles and in decision making structures in Tanzania. Gender Male Champions will continue to work to ensure women's right are promoted and protected within their localities for gender equality that foster a community where all citizens enjoys their rights equally. The event was held at Morena hotel, Dodoma attended by 32 selected members of TANLAP.
