THE CITIZENS HAVE DECIDED: CONGRATULATIONS TO ALL VOTERS

TANLAP thanks the Government for granting the election observation permit and for cooperation throughout the fulfillment of observation duties. It also congratulates all the citizens who came out to vote and the election managers who did their job professionally.

TANLAP sent a team of election observers with 414 observers in 26 regions and 184 districts in mainland Tanzania, who reported that there was a response for citizens to come out to vote, especially from groups of women, youth, and people with disabilities. This is due to the efforts of TANLAP to conduct the voter education exercise using paralegals who are throughout the country, after providing them with extensive training. In addition, TANLAP received good cooperation from the Office of the President -TAMISEMI in ensuring that education reaches all citizens.

Observers also reported that citizens were motivated to participate in election and use their constitutional right for the development of their communities. However, in some areas, they identified challenges, which we hope the Government will work on to ensure that in future elections, these shortcomings do not arise.
