As part to promote and protect a cohesive state and non- state actors collaboration to ensure the realization of access to Justice and rule of law in Tanzania, TANLAP in collaboration with member organization- TAWLA organized a capacity building session with Judicial Representatives in Mwanza to discuss the situation of human rights, rule of law and access to justice in order to identity opportunities for advocacy and collaboration amongst state and Non state actors leading to a society that respect fundamental principles of human rights, rule of law and good governance.
Earlier today on 7th December 2020, TANLAP in collaboration with WILDAF, TAWLA and KWIECO had the opportunity to launch MWANAMKE IMARA Project that is funded by USAID. The project will be implemented in Mbeya ( Rungwe and Mbalali Districts), Njombe ( Ludewa and Makete Districts) and Kilimanjaro ( Rombo and Moshi Districts). The project goal is to ensure women and young persons have access to justice, protect against gender based violence, able to participated in leadership and decision making structures and economically empowered, and have access to resources and information.
On 1st December, 2020, a team of Legal Aid Providers coordinated by TANLAP and the office of Kagera Regional Commissioner had the opportunity to provide Legal Education and Legal Aid Services at Rwamurumba Prison in Bukoba District where prisons had the opportunity to receive legal education and legal aid services as part of Legal Aid Week in Kagera Region during the commemoration of 16 days campaign against Gender Based Violence and International AIDS/HIV day.
