![]() On 21 June 2022, TANLAP conducted a virtual meeting on Global Initiative to Amplify the call for a treaty to end violence against women and girls. The meeting was participated by Members of TANLAP, stakeholders and other activists working to ending GBV. TANLAP Board Chairperson Dr. Helen Kijo Bisimba officiated the meeting and gave an opening remarks. Ms. Anan Manzan Anodjo from Vital voices spoke on behalf of the guest of honor. Other speakers were Zainab Ali Khan who is the Global Coalition Coordinator in Pakistan and the Founding Working Group Member at the Every Women Treaty; Advocate Anna Kulaya- Executive Director of WiLDAF who is also a member of Legal Support Network on Family Law Issues and TANLAP Board Member gave a Tanzania situation on GBV, while the Role of Technology in ending GBV was presented by Advocate Geline Fuko -Executive Director of Tangible Initiative for Local Development in Tanzania. |
![]() On 15th June, TANLAP paid courtesy call to Rombo District Executive Director and discuss the progress of Mwanamke Imara project in Rombo. Also, TANLAP had the opportunity to conduct a working and learning session with Paralegals in Rombo DC as part of improving access to justice for women and girls through legal aid provision under Mwanamke Imara project. Similarly, TANLAP in collaboration with District Rombo Government via Community Development office had also the opportunity to distribute 25 bicycles to facilitate the provision of legal aid services to clients in Rombo. |
![]() On 14th June, TANLAP had a privilege to conduct a working and learning session with Paralegals and Community Animators in Moshi DC as part of improving access to justice for women and girls through legal aid provision under Mwanamke Imara project. TANLAP in collaboration with District Moshi Government via Community Development office had also the opportunity to distribute 25 bicycles to Paralegals and Community Animators to facilitate the provision of legal aid services to clients in Moshi. |

She was among few fellows whose work in the US was highlighted by Deputy Assistant Secretary Ethan Rosenzweig, as a success of the Humphrey fellowship program during Professional Affiliation Host appreciation breakfast at the US Department of State. Together with Professor, Toni Marsh, whom she worked with at the George Washington University, they were honored to be invited to address and describe the work they have been doing to examine how Tanzanian paralegal education and legal services delivery models can inform license paralegal programs in the US. Indeed,The Humphrey Fellowship Program is a driver of common future through learning and connecting! ![]() On 9th June 2022 TANLAP in collaboration with other organizations which are part of Law Reform Advocacy Group that is coordinated by TIFLD paid a courtesy visit to the Law Reform Commission and honoured to be received by the Chairperson of the Commission. The team learned the history behind the enactment of laws and discussed on ways to collaborate in law reforms. The team also shared analysis of laws which need reforms. |
