Students from Shunga Secondary School in Ngara -Kagera were pictured reading the brochures of the questions and answers of the Legal Aid Act, 2017 during the visit of TANLAP and MHOLA at their school. They also formed a club of 100 students which will be debating on eliminating violence against women and girls.
Today on the 19th March 2019 at Karabagaine Secondary School Kagera District Council, #TANLAP and #MHOLA had a noble opportunity to engage Students and teachers in the process of establishing Girls Rights and Legal Aid Club. After introducing the theme of the activity, 106 students willingly agreed to form a club. They have committed themselves to fight against GBV in Kagera region. Special thanks to District officials for the support they have provided to ensure we access school facility and spent time to speak with students.
TANLAP and MHOLA visits Kagemu Secondary School in Kagera and established Girls rights and Legal Aid club. 134 students volunteered to be members of the club. Thankful for to UN Women for funding the project in Kagera.
Ms. Christina Kamili- #TANLAP Executive Director, after introducing the activity to establish girls rights and legal aid club in Kagemu Secondary School in Bukoba MC, she found her self providing motivation to young girls who were inspired by her. While others where continued with the process of electing clubs leaders, those highly motivated didn't hesitate to come forward for personal consultation to Ms. Christina Kamili. Young girls were happy to be inspired to become advocates of human rights in their communities.
