In 2009, TANLAP launched its flagship “Enhancing Rule of Law and Access to Justice” initiative, a nationwide program designed to strengthen legal institutions and expand community-level legal support. Through targeted capacity‐building workshops, the deployment of certified paralegals in underserved districts, and partnerships with local stakeholders, the project fortified procedural fairness in courts, streamlined case‐management practices, and empowered thousands of vulnerable Tanzanians to understand and assert their rights—laying the groundwork for a more equitable justice system across the country.
