TANLAP Annual Report 2021

The Tanzania Network of Legal Aid Providers (TANLAP) presents the 2021 organizational report to the Government, public, partners, clients, beneficiaries and all other key stakeholders. The 2021 report is mainly a continuation of where we ended in December 2020 as depicted in the narrative and financial reports of that year. This simply means that the thrilling narrative of legal aid provision among the needy, especially women and young people in Tanzania is far from being reached. The need for legal aid provision and assistance in Tanzania is so great, yet the resources required to meet this growing need are so scanty. TANLAP is always facing the challenge of “doing more with less”.
In 2021, TANLAP is thankful for the continued support from National Endowment for Democracy (NED) and UN Women. TANLAP and its members continued to implement a noble Mwanamke Imara Project under USAID support. In this year TANLAP implemented various key activities that have helped to improve access to justice for women and young people on rights- based issues in Mbeya, Njombe and Kilimanjaro Regions.
