For the past four years since the enactment of the Legal Aid Act (2017), TANLAP and its members have conducted a series of activities to improve access to justice in Tanzania for the promotion and protection of human rights especially to women, young girls, and other marginalized groups in the communities. The focus has been improved access to justice in Tanzania regarding availability, accessibility, and
realization of human rights. With the support from USAID Tanzania under the Mwanamke Imara Project, TANLAP conducted this analysis to identify key achievements, lessons leant, areas that require improvement, areas require stakeholders’ engagement, and challenges associated with the implementation of the Legal Aid Act of 2017.
