Description

The Legal Aid Act, 2017, is a Tanzanian law that regulates and coordinates the provision of legal aid services to indigent persons. It also recognizes the role of paralegals in legal aid delivery and repeals the earlier Legal Aid (Criminal Proceedings) Act. The Act aims to improve access to justice for vulnerable populations by establishing a framework for legal aid provision and outlining the qualifications and responsibilities of legal aid providers.
